Shield: raids, scam links, new accounts, spam trap and lockdown
Protects your server from join waves, phishing, fake accounts and spam bots – with a one-click lockdown.
The Shield watches over your server around the clock. It consists of several parts that you turn on individually:
- Raid protection – detects join waves.
- Scam & phishing protection – deletes messages with phishing links, Nitro and Steam bait and mass mentions.
- New account protection – slows down freshly created accounts.
- Spam trap – a bait channel only spam bots write in.
- Lockdown – locks every text channel for @everyone in an emergency.
yurna reports every action in the log channel and under Incidents. Timeouts, kicks and bans by the Shield are also added as cases to the case files (source “Shield”).
How to set it up#
- Open Dashboard → Moderation → Shield (
/dashboard/<server>/schutzschild). - Turn the module on at the top right. While it’s off, yurna detects nothing – you can still use the lockdown button, though.
- Choose a Log channel, ideally one only your team can see.
- Review the individual parts, adjust them and save.
- If the page shows “Yurna is missing permissions”, grant the listed permissions and move yurna’s role above the roles you want to protect. Without permissions yurna only reports.
Changes in the dashboard take effect within 30 seconds.
Raid protection#
If lots of accounts join in a short time, yurna reacts immediately. Default: 10 joins in 30 seconds (adjustable: 3–200 joins within 5–600 seconds). Raid protection is on by default within the module.
What should happen?
- Report only (default) – a message in the log channel.
- Time out new members – everyone who joined during the wave gets a timeout (duration adjustable).
- Kick new members – everyone who joined during the wave is kicked.
- Automatic lockdown – locks the server for the configured lockdown duration (Full Moon and up).
As extra signals, the log flags young accounts (default: younger than 7 days, 0 = off) as well as identical avatars and similar names.
Scam & phishing protection#
Checks links against yurna’s list of known phishing domains and detects look-alikes of Discord and Steam (e.g. dlscord.gift). The message is always deleted; in addition you choose Delete only, Timeout (default), Kick or Ban.
- Detect typical patterns – “Free Nitro”, Steam trade bait and look-alike domains.
- Public phishing list – additionally the community list by Discord-AntiScam with 30,000+ domains (Full Moon and up).
- @everyone + link from new accounts – accounts younger than this many days may not post @everyone with a link (default 7, 0 = off).
- Mass mention – from this many mentions in one message (default 8, at least 3, 0 = off).
- Blocked domains and Allowed domains – one domain per line, subdomains included.
- Excluded roles and Excluded channels – e.g. your team. Admins and the server owner are always excluded.
With Check a scam link you test a URL against your server’s saved settings and see whether yurna would remove it, and why.
New account protection#
Off by default. Accounts younger than the Minimum age (default 7 days, 1–365) count as new. Optionally, accounts without avatar count as new too.
- Report only – a message in the log channel.
- Quarantine role – gives a role you use in Discord to restrict what new accounts can see and do. The role must be below yurna’s highest role.
- Timeout – until the account is old enough (at most 28 days).
- Kick – with a short explanation by DM.
Release members with the button on the message in the log channel.
Spam trap#
A channel nobody should write in. Spam bots post blindly into every channel – and get punished right away. To set it up:
- Choose Create a new channel (yurna creates #spam-trap at the very top) or Use an existing channel.
- Confirm. An existing channel is cleared completely; if it has messages older than 14 days, yurna replaces the channel with a copy that has the same settings.
- yurna posts an explanation in the channel – from then on the trap is armed.
Settings: Punishment (Ban – default, Softban, Kick or Timeout), Delete messages (from the last 0–7 days, default 1), More exceptions and your own Explanation text. Bots, admins and your team (Manage Server or Manage Messages) are always excluded. yurna needs “Manage Channels” and “Manage Messages” for this.
Lockdown#
In an emergency the lockdown stops everything: @everyone loses “Send Messages” and “Create Threads” in all text and forum channels. Afterwards yurna restores every channel permission exactly.
- Start it with Start lockdown and pick a duration between 15 minutes and 24 hours. You can extend or lift it at any time.
- Lockdown options: default duration (also used for the automatic lockdown, default 30 minutes), Announcement channel, Pause invites (on by default) and Raise verification level (sets it to “High” for the duration).
- yurna needs “Manage Channels” and “Manage Roles”.
Log channel and incidents#
In the log channel every message has matching buttons: Remove timeout, Remove timeouts (after a raid), Unban, Release and Lift lockdown. You need “Moderate Members” for timeouts and releasing, “Ban Members” for bans and “Manage Server” for the lockdown. The Incidents tab lists every action, newest first; the stats at the top count raids, scam messages, new accounts and spam trap hits from the last 30 days.
