Server templates and setup assistant
Set up channels, roles and modules to match in one click – with four templates or the assistant. yurna only adds, nothing is deleted.
With server templates yurna sets up your server in about a minute: matching channels, roles and modules for a community, support, gaming or Minecraft server. The setup assistant asks you three questions and suggests the right template.
yurna only adds. Existing channels and roles with the same name are reused; nothing is deleted or renamed.
You'll find both under Dashboard → Server & plan → Templates (/dashboard/<server>/vorlagen), and the assistant at /dashboard/<server>/vorlagen/assistent.
In the dashboard#
With the setup assistant#
- Click Start assistant – on the overview in the "New here?" card or under Templates.
- Answer three questions: What kind of server is this?, Which language should yurna write in? and What matters to you? (multiple choice, nothing selected = everything that fits).
- yurna shows Our suggestion with the matching template. Check the preview and click Apply template.
If you don't want new channels and roles, choose Only turn on modules. The overview then shows what you can turn on under First steps.
Picking a template yourself#
- Open Server & plan → Templates.
- Choose the Language of channels and texts.
- Click Preview & apply on a template: Community, Support server, Gaming or Minecraft.
- The preview lists roles, categories & channels and modules – each marked New or Existing. Under Areas you deselect what yurna shouldn't create.
- Click Apply template. yurna shows the progress step by step and, at the end, what was created, reused or skipped.
Depending on the template, yurna sets up e.g. welcome, rules with a button, logs, basic Automod protection, the shield, tickets, self roles, levels, Join-to-Create, the music control panel, events or the Minecraft status. Modules that are already set up stay unchanged.
Note
yurna needs Manage Channels, Manage Roles and Manage Server, among others. If something is missing, the preview names the permission. Without "Manage Server", yurna only skips the Automod step.
By command#
You apply the templates themselves in the dashboard. In Discord, /yurna start helps you:
| Command | What it does | Important options |
|---|---|---|
/yurna start | shows the six basics (Welcome, Automod, Logs, Levels & XP, Verification, Tickets) with their state | – |
| Turn on … button | turns on Welcome, Automod, Logs or Levels & XP with the recommendation – without new channels and roles | – |
| Set up server (1 minute) button | opens the setup assistant in the dashboard | – |
/yurna start needs "Manage Server"; only you see the reply. The welcome goes to your server's system channel, the logs to a private channel #yurna-logs.
Common questions#
Does a template delete anything?#
No. yurna only creates what's missing and keeps using what exists with the same name.
Can I apply a template twice?#
Yes. What's already there is detected and skipped. Templates shows which template was applied last.
Why wasn't a role assigned?#
yurna doesn't assign roles automatically that sit above its own role or have management permissions. The preview warns you about them.
yurna doesn't respond – what happens to the request?#
It waits and starts as soon as yurna is back online.
