BuiltByBit: post purchases, updates and reviews
For BuiltByBit creators: yurna posts purchases, new versions and reviews to your channels and can give buyers a role automatically.
For BuiltByBit creators: yurna posts purchases, new versions and reviews of your resources as embeds in your channels. If you like, buyers get a role automatically.
In the dashboard#
- Open Dashboard → Content & automations → BuiltByBit (
/dashboard/<server>/builtbybit). - Under Connections, click Connect BuiltByBit. yurna creates your own webhook address and template.
- Purchase webhook: On BuiltByBit, create a new webhook under Webhooks in your creator dashboard – trigger “Purchase”, method POST, content type application/json, template “Custom template”. Paste the webhook address. You get the template via Show template with secret → Copy template.
- API token (Ultimate) – optional: for updates, reviews and the buyer role, paste your BuiltByBit Ultimate API private token and click Check & save.
- Under Notifications, pick a channel for each event (purchases, updates, reviews), plus ping roles, a link button and a custom embed if you like. Turn on Notification active and click Send test.
- Optional: under Buyer role, assign a role to a resource (or to all) and send the “Verify purchase” panel to a channel.
Purchases arrive instantly via webhook. yurna checks for updates and reviews regularly.
Warning
Don't share the template – it contains your secret. If in doubt, click Generate new secret and replace the template in BuiltByBit. The API token has full access to your account: yurna only uses it to read, stores it encrypted and never shows it again.
Privacy#
By default, posts say “a buyer” instead of the BuiltByBit name. Show buyer name changes that – then it's best to pick a channel only your team can see.
Buyer role#
Buyers link their Discord account in their BuiltByBit account. If the person is already on the server, yurna gives the role right at purchase. Everyone else clicks “Verify purchase” in the panel; yurna checks the licence through the API. No codes or forms needed.

By command#
You set up the connection, webhook secret, API token and custom embeds in the dashboard – /shop status links to the page. Everything else also works in Discord with /shop builtbybit:
| Command | What it does | Key options |
|---|---|---|
/shop status | shows connected shops, active posts and buyer roles (Etsy and BuiltByBit) | – |
/shop builtbybit set <event> | sets up or changes a BuiltByBit post | event: purchase, update or review · connection: only needed if you have several (list) · channel · enabled: on/off · ping-roles: role mentions, - = none · link-button · resources: only these resource IDs, e.g. 123, 456, - = all · min-stars: reviews from this many stars |
/shop builtbybit test <event> | sends the saved post with sample values as a test (at most 5 per minute) | connection |
/shop builtbybit role-set <resource> <role> | buyers of this resource get the role; * = any resource | resource: from the list or a resource ID · role · connection |
/shop builtbybit role-remove <resource> | removes the mapping; roles already given stay | connection |
/shop builtbybit panel <channel> | posts the "Confirm purchase" panel (needs at least one buyer role) | connection |
You need "Manage Server". Options you leave out stay unchanged. Buyer roles need the API token and Half Moon.
Common questions#
Why are no purchases posted?#
Check in BuiltByBit that the webhook has the right address and the current template. Under Purchase webhook you can see when the last call came in. After Generate new secret you must replace the template in BuiltByBit.
What does “Token invalid” mean?#
BuiltByBit no longer accepts the saved token – for example because it was revoked or Ultimate expired. Updates, reviews and the buyer role pause until you add a new token.
Do I need BuiltByBit Ultimate?#
Only for updates, reviews and the buyer role. Purchase posts work through the webhook without a token.
What happens when I disconnect?#
The secret, token, all posts and role assignments of this connection are deleted right away. Remove the webhook in your BuiltByBit account too.
The page says “BuiltByBit module paused”?#
The operator has switched the module off for now. Your settings are kept.
