Having your data deleted

How to request deletion of your account or a server's data – what's deleted, what stays and how the request works.

DashboardPrivacy

You can have the data of your account or of a server deleted. So nobody unauthorised can delete data, this works through a deletion request: you submit it in the dashboard, the operator reviews and confirms it, and only then is anything deleted.

Warning

Removing yurna from a server does not delete its data. You need a request for that.

Deleting your account#

  1. Open your Profile (user menu → Profile, /user/profile).
  2. Scroll to Delete account and click Request deletion.
  3. Optionally give a reason – it helps with the review.
  4. Click Submit request. You'll see the status in your profile afterwards.

This deletes your account and your data at yurna: profile, logins, settings, XP, reputation and coins on all servers, and your linked accounts. Tickets and notes you wrote stay with the servers and are attributed to a "Deleted user".

Deleting a server's data#

You need the "Manage Server" or "Administrator" permission on the server.

  1. Open Dashboard → Server → Settings (/dashboard/<server>/settings).
  2. At the very bottom is Delete server data – read what's deleted and what isn't.
  3. Click Request deletion, optionally give a reason and click Submit request.

Deleted are, among other things, the server's settings, members' XP, reputation and coins, join, leave and message statistics, warnings, giveaways, the change log, all tickets with their messages, notes, ratings and transcript entries, ticket categories, reaction roles, join-to-create profiles, the verification history, flows and unlocked premium features.

Not deleted are, among other things, ticket files in storage (transcripts and attachments), daily statistics on server activity and command usage, and the premium history and redeemed premium codes – so a code that was already redeemed can't be redeemed again. Command calls and suggestions are kept for up to 1 year, technical logs for up to 90 days.

yurna doesn't delete anything in Discord itself: channels, roles, messages and AutoMod rules created by yurna stay in place.

How a request works#

StatusWhat it means
Waiting for confirmationThe request is submitted; nothing changes until it's reviewed. You can withdraw it at any time.
ApprovedThe operator agreed, the deletion is in progress.
DoneThe data has been deleted.
RejectedThe operator declined, possibly with a note. You can request again and describe the reason in more detail.
FailedSomething went wrong while deleting. The operator has been informed; you can request again.

You'll see the status in your profile or in the server settings. When it changes, an entry also appears in your Notifications (the bell in the dashboard).

  • There's at most one open request per account or server.
  • Only the person who submitted a request can withdraw it – and only while it's still waiting.

Before the deletion#

  • Download your data first if you want to keep it: Profile → Download data or Dashboard → Server → Settings → Download data (JSON file).
  • Before a server deletion, yurna stores a partial backup with the operator (basic settings, statistics, XP, reputation and coins, warnings, giveaways, change log). It's deleted automatically after 30 days. The daily database backups still contain the data for up to 14 days.
  • There's no way to restore data from the dashboard.

Common questions#

  • Does yurna stay on the server? Yes. If yurna is still on the server after the deletion, it creates settings with default values again.
  • Can I do this without the dashboard? Yes, by email to the address in the privacy policy. The operator may ask for proof that the account or server is yours (for example via your Discord account).
