CommandsMessages

Besides moderation and community features, yurna has a set of small everyday helpers: polls, reminders, countdowns, translations, member and server info, custom embeds, QR codes and more. In the command list you'll find them in the Utility category.

How to set it up#

  1. The tools work right away – there's no dedicated dashboard page.
  2. Turn off individual commands under Dashboard → Modules & commands → Commands in the Utility category.
  3. Make sure yurna may "Embed Links" in the channel; /poll also needs "Add Reactions".

Note

The Utility category also contains /daily (see Economy), /flow (see Flows) and /premium (see Plans). If you turn off the whole category, those commands are off too.

The most useful tools#

Polls with /poll#

Enter a question (question, up to 200 characters) and at least two answers (option1, option2, optionally up to option10). yurna posts the poll as an embed and adds a number reaction for each answer. People vote by reacting. Duplicate answers are merged; you need at least two different ones.

Reminders with /reminder#

time accepts values like 10s, 5m, 1h or 2h30m – at least 10 seconds, at most 24 hours. In message you write what you want to be reminded of (up to 500 characters). Only you see the confirmation. When it's time, yurna sends you a direct message; if your DMs are closed, yurna mentions you in the channel instead.

Countdowns with /timer#

duration works like in /reminder, but from 10 seconds to 1 hour. Use label to give the timer a name. yurna shows in the channel when the timer ends and replies with a mention to you once it's done.

Warning

Reminders and timers aren't stored permanently. If yurna restarts in the meantime, pending reminders and timers are lost.

Translating with /translate#

text (up to 512 characters) is required. to sets the target language (default: English), from the source language (default: detect automatically). yurna suggests matching languages while you type.

Custom embeds with /embed#

Only title (up to 256 characters) is required. Optional: description (up to 4096), color as a hex value like #FF0000, footer (up to 200), and image and thumbnail as image URLs. yurna sends the embed to the current channel; only you see the confirmation. Without color, yurna uses your server's default embed colour (Dashboard → Server → Settings).

Calculating with /math#

You can use numbers, + - * / %, brackets and sqrt, floor, ceil, round, abs, log, pow, min, max, PI and E. Write powers as 2^10 or 2**10.

Member and server info#

/userinfo shows the user ID, name, account creation and join date, roles and badges. /serverinfo shows the server ID, owner, creation date, members (humans, bots, online), channels, roles, emojis, stickers, boost level and verification level. /avatar shows the global avatar and – if there is one – the server avatar.

Common problems#

  • "Invalid time format": Use hours, minutes and seconds in that order without spaces, e.g. 1h15m30s.
  • /embed is missing from the command list: By default the command is only visible to members with "Manage Messages". You can change that in Discord under Server Settings → Integrations.
  • No reactions under the poll: yurna lacks the "Add Reactions" permission in that channel.
