Music & radio

yurna plays live radio in voice channels: more than 50,000 public stations from the free directory radio-browser.info, plus your own audio files. A control panel with buttons makes it easy for everyone in the channel. YouTube and Spotify together are available via /together – using Discord's own features.

You'll find the page under Dashboard → Engagement → Music (/dashboard/<server>/musik).

How to set it up#

1. Join a voice channel.
2. Type /radio play and start typing the station name – yurna suggests matching stations (e.g. BBC, Lofi, Jazz).
3. Pick a station. yurna joins your channel and plays it.
4. With /radio panel you post the control panel in the text channel.

The dashboard works without commands too: choose a Voice channel at the top, search for a name or genre under Stations (or click Show popular) and click Play.

Commands#

When a file ends, yurna goes back to the last station played – or stops if no station was playing yet.

The control panel#

The control panel shows what's playing, in which channel, the volume and whether 24/7 is on. It updates itself.

• ⭐ Save stores the current station as a favourite (up to 10)
• 🌙 24/7 toggles round-the-clock mode (Half Moon and up)
• Menus for Popular stations, By genre and Your favourites

Anyone in the same voice channel or with the "Manage Channels" permission can control it.

Settings in the dashboard#

• Now: what's playing, with Stop and Resume.
• Favourites: stations you've starred. They also appear in the control panel (up to 10).
• Volume: from 10 to 100 %. Applies right away, also to what's playing.
• 24/7: yurna stays in the channel even when nobody listens and comes back with the last station after restarts.
• Control panel: Post sends the control panel to a text channel of your choice.

Without 24/7, yurna leaves the channel once nobody has been in it for 2 minutes.

YouTube and Spotify together#

• /together youtube starts Discord's official Watch Together activity: everyone in the voice channel sees the same YouTube video in sync. You need to be in a voice channel.
• /together spotify explains Discord's Listen Along feature: connect Spotify under Settings → Connections, start music, and friends click your status → Listen Along. Everyone needs Spotify Premium for this.

Premium#

Common problems#

• “Join a voice channel first.” /radio play, /radio file and /together youtube need you in a voice channel.
• “yurna isn’t allowed to connect or speak in this voice channel.” Give yurna the Connect and Speak permissions there.
• Stage channels aren't supported. Use a regular voice channel.
• “yurna is playing in another channel where people are still listening”. yurna can only play in one channel per server. As long as someone is still listening there, yurna won't switch.
• Watch Together doesn't start. yurna needs the Create Invite permission in your voice channel.
• The station cuts out. yurna reconnects up to 5 times. If that doesn't work, pick another station.
