Join-to-Create: chat history
Download the text chat of a Join-to-Create channel – and optionally keep the last 4 chats in the dashboard for 30 days.
Every Join-to-Create voice channel has its own text chat. Once everyone has left, yurna deletes the channel – and the chat with it. So that nothing gets lost, there are two ways.
Download history (always available)#
The channel's control panel shows a small notice with the button 📜 Download history below. Anyone who can see the channel can press it and gets – visible only to them – an HTML file with all messages so far (time, name, text). The file opens in any browser, even offline.
- Nothing is stored.
- Each person can use the button at most every 30 seconds.
Keep chat history (setting, off by default)#
Under Dashboard → Community → Join-to-Create you can turn on “Keep chat history” per profile (or with /jtc profile edit keep-history:true). Then:
- The control panel in the channel clearly says that the chat is kept after closing.
- When the channel is empty and gets deleted, yurna saves the chat first.
- It appears in the dashboard under Last chats with channel name, owner, time span, number of messages and participants – to view or download.
yurna keeps the last 4 chats per server, for at most 30 days. When a fifth one arrives, the oldest is replaced. Channels in which nobody wrote are not saved.
What is saved – and what is not#
- Messages from people: time, display name, text, replies and sticker names. Messages from bots (including the control panel) do not count.
- Attachments only as name, type and size – images and files themselves stay with Discord (their links expire anyway).
- At most 2000 messages or 1 MB per chat. When closing, yurna waits only a few seconds for Discord; if that is not enough, less is saved and the chat is marked as “incomplete”.
- If someone deletes the channel by hand, there is no history – yurna only saves when it closes the channel itself.
Commands#
| Command | What it does | Who may |
|---|---|---|
/jtc history list | Lists the saved chats (1 = newest) | Manage Server |
/jtc history get <nr> | Sends a saved chat as an HTML file, visible only to you | Manage Server |
| `/jtc profile edit <profile> keep-history:true | false` | Turns “Keep chat history” on or off for a profile |
Privacy#
- Only people with Manage Server can view and download chats in the dashboard.
- yurna deletes saved chats automatically after 30 days.
- Anyone who has their yurna account deleted disappears with their messages from all saved chats; the data export (Profile → Download data) contains their own messages from them.
- When a server is deleted, its saved chats are gone too.
