Channel banners: image banners for info channels
Nice banners for rules, welcome and more: yurna posts the image and updates it when you change something. Also via /server banner.
A channel banner is an image as the first message of an info channel, for example "Rules" or "Welcome". yurna posts the image as a normal message. If you change the banner, yurna updates the same message – no new one appears.
You'll find the page under Dashboard → Content & automations → Channel banners (/dashboard/<server>/kanalbanner).
In the dashboard#
- Click Add banner.
- Pick the Channel (text or announcement channel).
- Choose the Banner type: yurna template (free for everyone) or Custom image (Half Moon and up).
- For the template: enter a Title (large lettering), a Subtitle (small line below) and an Accent colour.
- For a custom image: enter the Image address – a public https address (PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP, up to 8 MB, ideally 1200 × 300 pixels).
- The Preview shows exactly the image yurna posts. Click Save & post.
Your banners lists all banners with their status (Posted, Not posted yet, Failed). There you can edit a banner, Post again or Remove it – yurna then also deletes the message in the channel.
Note
yurna needs the View Channel, Send Messages and Attach Files permissions in the channel.
How many banners?#
| New Moon | Half Moon | Full Moon | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Channel banners | 3 | 15 | 50 |
| Custom image | – | yes | yes |
There is one banner per channel.
By command#
| Command | What it does | Important options |
|---|---|---|
/server banner set <channel> | creates or changes a banner and posts it | channel: channel; style: template or custom image; title, subtitle; color: accent colour (#hex); image-url: custom image (https, Half Moon and up) |
/server banner remove <channel> | removes the banner and its message | channel: channel |
You need "Manage Server". If you leave out an option, the previous value stays. The same plan limits as in the dashboard apply.
Common questions#
Why does it say "Failed"?#
Usually yurna is missing permissions in the channel, or the custom image couldn't be loaded (address, size or format). Check that and click Post again.
The channel was deleted – now what?#
The banner then shows "Channel deleted". Pick a new channel when editing, or remove the banner.
Does the banner always stay at the top?#
yurna posts it as a normal message. Best create the banner while the channel is still empty.
Can I upload an image directly?#
No. A custom image needs a public https address.
